Announcing the Save St Drostan's Web page.
The closure of the St Drostan's Care Home, Old Deer, concerns many local people. This website gives you the opportunity to explain to us how you contributed to the decision to close the home.
Were you in favour or not?
What were your reasons for coming to your decision?
Do you really expect the hypothetical facility in Mintlaw to be completed before the current date for the closure of St Drostan's: 31st March 2007? Even if it is completed, will it be suitable for the frailest of the frail accommodated at St Drostan's?
Is it true that recommendations from the Care Commission for accommodation have been erroneously interpreted as requirements for the accommodation provided at St Drostan's?
What is really sub-standard at St Drostan's?
You must be aware that turning frail old people out of their home, separating them from their friends, their relatives, the carers they know and like, will cause some of them to die sooner than they would otherwise do. If you voted for closure, please explain to us how you justify shortening the residents' lives.
We are all looking forward to your responses.
